one thing and another
Apr. 2nd, 2007 09:53 pmI had a really pleasant, busy weekend: Friday evening finished reading The Parable of the Sower and drank a silly quantity of wine while cuddling the kittycats; Saturday slept late, then rushed to chiropractor, rushed to farmer's market, and had just enough time to go to the gym before rushing off to my friend ddoc's dinner party (near Palo Alto) after which I came home and did a load of laundry (!); Sunday, finally bought my plane tickets for July trip to England, finished the grocery shopping, went for a three-hour hike, made vegetable soup, and took a bubble bath.
Today I woke up tired and pretty much stayed that way. One of the cats puked on the bedspread. My right knee has been twinging all day. I'm anxious about the project that is starting up at work, which my team should have been working on for the past month, except we've been so busy with the three other projects, etc. I realized rather late into the evening that, hey, it is actually April now and I need to pay some bills. For reasons unknown, my left shoulder is hurting. And so on.
In other words, Happy Monday? Ah well. I shall stop typing and take some ibuprofin and hope that a good night's sleep makes everything better...
Update, Tuesday AM:
So much for that theory. I woke up at 1:30 AM with a stomach ache, was awake for something over 90 minutes, first wondering what bad thing I had eaten, then thinking about work stuff, then almost drifting into nightmare and jerking awake to start the cycle over.
Then I hit snooze for 90 minutes this AM.
But actually, I do feel better rested than I did yesterday.
My arm/shoulder still hurts, and now I have matching twinges in my left calf (which is where I was hurting the last time I overdid it on a hike). Lately I seem to have lost my sense of my own hiking limits...
Anyway, I am working at home today, which is a Very Good Thing [tm], and just declining to hurry too much.
