e.g., I can no longer function on 4-1/2 hours sleep.

It's been another busy weekend. Friday evening, I had a massage appointment, then forced myself to do a load of laundry before turning in. Saturday AM, I set the alarm, took Lena to the vet (follow-up chiropractic visit), then took myself to the chiropractor, then headed into The City and spent 6+ hours at the Castro Theatre, after which K&K and I went for tapas, and I caught the last BART train back to the East Bay.

And then checked my email and determined that I had an engagement in the Lower Haight at 9AM (namely, breakfast with the C-R clan) and therefore set the alarm for 6:00 AM.

I believe that I used to be able to function on 4-1/2 hour sleep. Perhaps not optimally, but once I was up and had my coffee, I seem to recall I could function almost normally. This is clearly not the case anymore. Or, who knows. Perhaps I am romanticizing my youth. Maybe I always felt like crap on 4-1/2 hours sleep, I just was less inclined to fight it.

So anyway. Breakfast was yummy, and we got to Market St just in time to see the motorcycles. Kat entertained (and was entertained by) two friendly bearded men in utilikilts (with t-shirts that read, respectively "You may not be Mr Right, but I'll fuck you until he comes along" and "You are next on my to-do list"). She also liked being tickled in the face with the end of one of my braids.

They headed for home around noon, and I did the same not long after, on the theory that I have lots & lots & lots of stuff to get done before I travel, and besides my feet were starting to hurt. Now I'm home and too tired to even think about what I ought to want to be getting done right now. I know I will regret it tomorrow (and the next day, and the rest of the week) if I actually don't get *any* of it done.

Maybe a nap would help... I'm not generally very good at naps, but there are exceptions, and this could be one of them.

p.s. I should say more about the movies. Maybe later...

Update:

I did sleep, rather uneasily, for a couple of hours. I kept jolting awake unsure what time it was yet convinced I was late for something. Other than that, however, it felt pretty darn good. Both cats immediately curled up on either side of me; obviously they'd noticed that I haven't been home much this weekend.

And I woke up feeling, not quite par, but at least functional enough to triage my todo list and pick a modest amount to actually attempt. No gym, no trip to Target, no major cleaning. But: swept patio, took trash out, watered plants, made a quick trip to Safeway for a very few groceries, and then put groceries away, washed fruit, and packed lunches for the week. Now I am going to look at my budget for a few minutes before giving up for the evening.

Nor am I...

Also had four hours of sleep from Friday to Saturday. I walked right by the Castro theatre twice on Saturday while you were inside! I took the 11:30pm train ride home and went right to bed.

Got up at 9:30am...took an hourlong nap this afternoon, and I'm *still* exhausted. ;)
