3-day weekend, yay!

jaeclecticSundry things that I enjoyed and appreciated this weekend:
- leaving work early enough on Friday to be able to go to a dinner-time show at the Parkway
- seeing the new Hairspray movie (I have all new respect for John Travolta, *grin*)
- a leisurely trip to the farmer's market, including a long conversation with the exceedingly garrulous gentleman selling iris bulbs, who might have been irritating if I had been in a hurry, but was quite entertaining since I wasn't
- pelicans on Lake Merrit
- shopping, shopping, shopping (new shoes, new duvet covers, yay!)
- unexpectedly finding time to get my car washed, ooh pretty mini cooper!
- seeing a play with Jen, and then having dinner with Jen & Fredrik & wee Madeleine
- sleeping as late as I wanted, three days in a row
- a nice hike today, mmm, endorphins...
On the less positive side, just so you can tell that it's me, miscellaneous minor irritations:
- discovering today that my landline had no dial tone (fixed now, after fighting with the AT&T web site, and then a series of phone/voice systems, argh! in order to report the problem to a human being, and then having to call back and fight through the phone/voice systems again to check status after 6 hours, bah)
- realizing that I had procrastinated way too long on budget-wrangling, with adverse results such as: I forgot to mail my supplemental property tax bill in August, and therefore must pay a 50-dollar late fee (not to mention spending 4 hours today and only sort of getting caught up)
- despite trying to convince myself to not even think about it, fretting about how much the trip to the Galapagos is going to cost (but dammit, I will go anyway!)
- getting a call just now from my upstairs neighbor reminding me that construction work in her unit is starting tomorrow, AKA demolition overhead, oh joy
Still and all, a lovely weekend. I am loathe to admit it's over...
