My colleague snokrashe and I jointly won the prize for "Nerdiest Costume" at the IP halloween party, for which we dressed as IP lolcats.
Her signs said things that were generally work-related, like "Oh hai. I'm in ur meeting, reading mai emailz". The one she's wearing in the picture says "JESUS CHRIST ITS AN APP FAULT!" Mine were all very specific to the product I'm working on, which made them an in-joke only fully comprehensible to a couple dozen people in the universe, all of whom happened to be in the room. We got a certain number of blank looks from people who had no clue about lolcats, and then I got more blank looks from people not involved with the web security product. But the handful of people who totally cracked up made it all worthwhile.
The guy running the contest was actually trying to do it so that the choice for Nerdiest would be made from the pool of people who were runners-up for best costume -- but people in the audience actually called *my name*, demanding that we be added to the running. I feel so proud.
