jaeclectic...feels like some progress, though.
More furniture shopping today, only made small purchases but scoped out some things in the category of "cool but should I spend the money".
Then came home, talked on the phone with MSA (good exercise for the smile muscles) and then dove into re-arranging the office / exercise areas. One of the small purchases was new legs for the "corner" piece of the desk. Now have that in place which, along with the two folding tables, makes the desk a very wide U with the computer in the middle.
It feels odd sitting here, I think I need a soak period to figure out if I actually like it -- but it does solve the elbow-banging-into-table problem, and also magically gives me space to hide another 6 file boxes. Not to mention a lovely spot to put Kris's old OED (the 2-volume "compact" edition that she gave me when she bought the real 20-odd volume one). So until I am flush enough to actually buy a new desk, I think this is it.
Also moved the horrible walmart table over behind the short bookcases, where it is inconspicuous yet might actually be useful.
So things do seem to be coming together. Not sure if the hammock is going to work out or not, though. On closer examination, most of the cool looking hammock stands are actually too big (both for the hammock I own, and for the space available, even here!) Which is too bad, I want to have one dramatically silly, only-in-a-loft kind of thing...
