What better way to usher in spring than with a holiday devoted to symbols of fecundity, such as magical bunny rabbits, decorated eggs, and a reanimated corpse?

I slept for 12 hours last night and enjoyed it thoroughly. (This does indicate that I am not entirely well, since usually sleeping that long would make me feel rather waterlogged.) Various cold (or whatever) symptoms are not gone, but no worse at least. Although about now I am starting to think that a dose of cough syrup might do me good...

Since prying myself out of bed, I've managed to get to the farmer's market and TJ's (on foot) and then the gym (for a somewhat abbreviated workout, since it was kind of feeling good and not-good at the same time) plus Whole Paycheck (by car) and have started a load of laundry. My entire remaining ambition for the day is to finish that load of laundry and then burrow into the sofa for the evening.

Part of my brain always feels like I'm being robbed when I don't have any social plans for a weekend. But the idea of just resting is so appealing that I can't care much. And fortunately, Easter is a holiday that I genuinely don't care about, unlike many others that fill me with feelings of inadequacy if I don't have special exciting extra-wonderful plans.

Oh, I did also finally get my act together to send a polite dear-john email to the guy that I don't want to correspond with any more. Which makes me feel a slight fraction better, since at least I am doing unto others etc.

p.s. In Sweden, they decorate small trees with brightly colored feathers for Easter (of course, in Sweden, the desiduous trees don't yet have any foliage at this time of year). It's extremely charming. Sadly, I don't think I got any pictures of this when I was there (in 1999 or thereabouts).
