email woes

I hate spam. I hate spammers. Specifically, I hate spammers who get a hold of one of my email aliases and use it as the return address, so that my inbox gets filled with sundry delivery failure notices. (Despite the moderate interest to be found in noting competitors bulk mail warnings in the mix.)

I also hate when my normally reliable email/web hosting server seems to be going through a rough patch. Specifically, I hate it when my email client informs me that it can't open my mailbox because it's on a read-only file system. And therefore I can't even delete the aforementioned spam.

Bah.

suck.
major suck.

this explains the bounce i sent you yesterday (friday) afternoon...
initially i thought i'd maybe used an old e.addy....
but in further exploration
its clearly the current one... and this is probably why it bounced

i'll try resending...

i also hate the scathing "unsub me" replies!

Please do re-send. My email does seem to be up again, hopefully will stay that way...

just got a note from richard -- the main drive went down, and he's in the middle of doing an OS rebuild for the new hardware. he's hoping to be back up by the middle of today.

Thanks for letting me know. I did wonder if it was possible that it had been a bad enough spam attack to actually overwhelm the server; all in all, I am happier blaming the hardware (since that makes it less likely to happen again often).
