litany of not-muchness

So, today's highlight was a visit to the chiropractor (an extra one this month, due to the major knee strain inherent in shopping at IKEA). Did a little random shopping in Berkeley while I was there, plus a major grocery run to Trader Joe's, and another bank run to deposit the additional refund check from BlueShield that finally showed up.

Then came back and puttered, re-potted some plants, vacuumed, hung a few pictures...

After which I spent a couple more hours trying to figure out exactly what is wrong with BreakingStory. Got to the point of realizing that a) the problem is in the JSP per se, or maybe the JSP environment, but not the java classes, cause I can run java from the command line and get stuff from the database, and b) to get any further I need to be able to restart the tomcat instance (wrong word, maybe?) and see the error logs -- but I can neither remember nor find the URL for the tomcat "manager" application, even if what I used 2 years ago is still current. So I sent a polite email to Kevin, AKA the most godlike of all sysadmins. Hopefully he will not be too busy to answer.

Having written it all down, it almost looks like a reasonable amount to have gotten done in a day. But somehow I still don't feel very satisfied.
