randomized multi-topic whinging

It is only April and already too hot in this place. Especially in the AM when there is direct sun. Right now the weather page claims that it is currently 68 degrees F outside in Oakland, but in my bedroom area the thermometer reads 86.

The BayCHI job list is full of stuff that is a) not quite me, b) in San Jose, c) all of the above.

I've been gaining weight (again, more), and really need to do something about a new gym membership, and/or actually start dieting. I feel ugly and ungainly, and hardly any of my clothes fit.

I am trying to plan a small, highly informal dinner party for next weekend, and can't decide who to invite, and at this moment just want to forget the whole thing. A big party would be easy, just invite everyone I know and see who shows up. Doing this instead requires thought.

Everyone in the known universe is coupled-off except me.

I am slightly hung over, which may color all of the above.

And did I mention it's too hot?

Hmmm, well. "Diet" is a harsh word. Let's just say I need to restrain some of my recent unfettered comestible impulses.
