minor update

Meeting at Sun went OK, but it's not all over because I agreed to answer follow-up questions by email or phone. It would have made so much more sense to start with a brief phone call so I could find out what these people actually wanted before driving to Santa Clara to talk to them... never mind, c'est la guerre.

Susanne's wedding was fabulous. Great location (albeit heavy on the christian symbolism), she herself made an utterly exquisite bride, the food was good, and I got to hang out with James and Eva. What more could one want?

I note that the job at CafePress is in the BayCHI listing again, and I think they've rewritten it a bit (would have to pull out the old one for comparison). But it still emphasized graphic design, so I guess my charming cover letter wasn't convincing enough. Better put it out of my mind. *sigh*

Yesterday was another bad day for the diet, but last week I barely scraped by "on program" and lost weight anyway. However, I have a sense that it's going to get harder as I go along, or at least, I'll be able to get away with less -- maybe it won't be harder because I'll adapt (she says optimistically).

Sent out the evite to my house-warming, for next Saturday. Evite, BTW, has got to be the most simultaneously gratifying and annoying bit of software I have ever encountered. The parts that work right are great, and then there's the stuff it randomly gets wrong, like ignoring half of the names that I put in my address book (some people show up with by name, others show up as truncated email addresses) and having no direct way to add people to the invitation. Oy.

So anyway, that will be the theme for this week -- party prep. To all my local readers, hope to see you there (and to my distant readers, wish you were here :)
