Just for the record, I had a really fun day yesterday. Went into downtown SF in the AM and watched 4 hours of the pride parade, which as usual was a blast. I think I saw almost all of it this year, got a good spot on Market street that stayed shady past noon. I missed seeing K&K with the dykes on bikes, but I did see my chiropractor go by in one of those fake streetcars.
Then headed back to the East Bay and out to Orinda to see the Cal Shakes production of The Comedy of Errors, compleat with puppets. Very entertaining. (If I had been thinking harder when I decided to buy the ticket, I might not have picked Sunday, but never mind, it worked out fine.) I had a seat that was not so great, very near the front but all the way to one side, so I didn't always have a very good view of what the puppets were supposed to be doing -- but I did have a great view of how the actors were working the puppets, which may have been more interesting anyway...
Today, back to the grind, so to speak. I realized that I had let a whole week pass since telling Jen I would take charge of organizing the next BayCHI East meeting, so I sent off a batch of emails related to that. And then tried to go through this week's BayCHI job listing, but I'm having a really hard time focusing. I need to muster an attitude of "hey, this is worth a try", instead my main reaction today is that it all looks hopeless. So I am putting it aside for now, and in a little while I'll head off to Redwood park for another hike, guaranteed to make me feel cheerier.
