One of my former managers once told me that it's good to be a little bit nervous before a presentation, because otherwise your delivery tends to be flat. I always found this vaguely consoling: since I was going to be nervous anyway, why not think of it as a good thing?

Just now it occurred to me that I can apply this reasoning (delusional or not) to the prospect of an interview...

90% of the presentations I've done poorly in, it was b/c I was too blase going in and didn't have my energy up.

Umm, yeah. I am amazed by the obvious.

Something about getting a call regarding Wednesday's presentation while waiting for the call for today's phone interview... brought these forms of nervousness together in my mind.
