wierd dreams et cetera
Oct. 11th, 2004 09:18 pmWoke up this AM from one of those not-exactly-nightmare unpleasant dreams. Describing the plot sounds silly rather than ominous, but it was: my brother was disguised as a carnivorous rabbit (picture a big guy in a bunny suit with a bloody mouth) and was going around frightening people into thinking he was going to kill and eat them, but instead he'd just beat them up and then laugh and walk away. He didn't actually threaten me, I was just watching.
At this point, the alarm went off, I hit snooze, and I drifted off into my ex-lover Jan angrily explaining something about the multiple labels on a sweater knit by a charity organization, which was the charity that Kris' mother is into, because in the dream Jan had Kris' family. You wouldn't think that would be an exceptionally horrible dream, except that dreams of Jan always feel oppressive.
Well, the day wasn't as bad as the dreams portended, but it wasn't exactly wonderful either.
Good parts: ran into Maggie's friend Scott in the BART station, and had a nice chat all the way to Pleasanton, joined toward the end by Jonathan A. Then despite scheduling traumas managed lunch with Maggie, Scott, Sarah, and John C (collectively known as Maggie's red-headed posse).
Bad parts: the aforementioned scheduling (things that should be happening still not happening at the pace needed). Finding out that I didn't have the current version of the spec for the product I'm working on. Basically just another day gone and not noticably further ahead.
My mantra: it's just the new job blues.
