In one of my rare television-watching moods, happened to catch Bill Moyers interviewing Richard Dawkins. Thank goodness for the liberal media! (shs says ironically, but nevertheless grateful for scraps). How lovely to see an articulate and unapologetic atheist, right there on my TV.

Earlier today I found out that one of my co-workers is leaving the company (lot of that going around, *sigh*) and moving back to Ohio. We went out to lunch, and for whatever reason were talking about Easter, and I made some reference to it being a pagan holiday, what with all the fertility symbols, rabbits and eggs for goodness sake! The other two people at the table nodded like "yes, that's obvious" but the Ohioan just looked mildly puzzled and said "I really want to look into that. I wonder where the rabbits come from..." Even when I said I was serious, that it was a pre-Christian holiday, she still obviously hadn't heard me.

A bit of context for why I was so appreciative of Mr. Dawkins. Even if it wasn't prime time, at least it was national TV.

That would be Dawkins. Dawson is the guy who played the Brit on Hogan's Heroes, and used to host family feud. I was very confused there, for a couple of minutes. ;)

Whoops, this is why I shouldn't post late at night & tipsy. (Will make correction now.)
