It look over three hours, sitting at the dining room table with my laptop, my three-page ballot, voter guides, and miscellaneous printouts -- but my absentee ballot is filled out and sealed and ready to be delivered to a polling place tomorrow. And I feel pretty satisfied, although I still would have been even better pleased if I had managed to do some of the research a wee bit ahead of time...
Meanwhile, I got distracted and forgot to put the laundry in the dryer, and then forgot to check the setting (so it was on low and took even longer). Result: last part of laundry is still drying, technically breaking the HOA rules which say the laundry room hours end at 10:00 PM. Ho hum.
Mind you, the laundry is only one of the several chores that I did not get done this weekend. But I guess the rest of them will wait a bit longer...
And I ought to be in bed by now, but I am kind of keyed up, and also think it will do me good to sit on the sofa with a heating pad on my back for a while. So what the heck. I'm going to do that, and have a glass of sherry to celebrate my minor victory over the impenetrable and daunting electoral process.
